据路透社报道，一份草案显示，印度民航监管机构正在考虑减少印度飞行员的夜间工作时间，并增加他们的休息时间。此前，印度民航监管机构收到了越来越多关于飞行员疲劳的投诉。
尽管旅游业出现了复苏迹象，飞机订单也相当可观，但这也导致了飞行员因极度繁忙的飞行排班而疲劳。最近，包括两名印度飞行员在内的几名飞行员死亡事件一经报道，引发了关于飞行员繁重的日程安排和相关疲劳的广泛讨论。
为此印度民航总局(DGCA)对印度航司收集的飞行员疲劳数据进行了为期两个月的审查。根据审查结果，印度民航总局提出了建议，包括将夜间飞行的最长值班时间从13小时减少到10小时，并将每周最低休息时间从36小时延长到48小时。
飞行员疲劳对航空安全至关重要。疲劳会导致飞行员在精神和身体方面表现出警觉性不足和退化。这是一个广泛关注的问题，不仅在印度，而且在全球范围内都是如此。
